Shawn is a Florida-based drummer and percussion craftsman with a lifelong dedication to rhythm, resonance, and innovation. In 2017, he formally established Stingray Percussion, Inc., transforming a legacy name into a registered business built for precision and purpose. As the company’s founder and lead designer, Shawn carries forward Stingray’s roots in fiberglass experimentation and marching percussion — refining custom gear for ensembles, drum set artists, and sonic explorers alike.

Today, he’s joined by Ryan, drummer for the Florida band Chasing Thrill, as they explore additive manufacturing to prototype 3D-printed drum shells using a range of composite and experimental materials. This venture marks a bold new chapter for the brand — blending digital precision with hands-on tuning to push the boundaries of acoustic design. From scooped-shell snares to composite bass drums, Stingray continues to evolve as a workshop of innovation for players who demand more than off-the-shelf.
